An Expanding Biznistry

  • Planning a mission trip?

  • Looking to get more involved in the community?

  • Have a youth ministry group looking for new opportunity for fund raising?

  • Have a young adult ministry group looking for volunteer opportunities?

  • Looking for a way to help spread the word and work of the gospel?

This is a way to fund it and to participate in a ministry touching thousands of lives!

Volunteering is an opportunity for you and your organization to participate in a unique ministry in a very enjoyable way. The Amaizing Grace Kettle Corn booth and it’s volunteers shine the “Light of Christ” at numerous festival events they otherwise would not experience.

The amaizing part? Your organization will share in the revenue generated.

What does volunteering look like?

You’ll get the opportunity to impact thousands of lives by being a part of the Amaizing Grace community.

This gives each of us an opportunity to impact lives in a positive way. It is not uncommon for us to offer a healing prayer with an individual who hobbles up to the booth on crutches. There are many opportunities to make life a little better for those needing just someone to listen and empathize.

There are multiple job duties available when volunteering for Amaizing Grace. Take a look and see where you may best contribute:

Cooker: this is a person who will mix corn and sugar in oil inside hot kettle. All people cooking will be thoroughly trained by experienced personnel. People cooking may consider wearing long sleeve shirt to protect arms from hot splatter. Face shield will be provided by Amaizing Grace.

Bagger: this is the person who will sift popped corn in sifting table, salt corn, allow cooling, and then bag finished product.

Sales/cashier: this person will sell bagged corn to customers!

Sample provider: this is someone who can interact with the crowd providing samples in order to help drive sales.

Volunteers may also be asked to assist in setting up equipment at events. Also, duties may include cleaning and packing equipment at the end of the event.

Volunteers should wear long sleeves if interested in cooking. All volunteers are required to wear hats. Face shield and aprons will be provided by Amaizing Grace. Volunteers are also required to bring their smiles and a Christian attitude with them. Anyone interested in attaining their Level One Food Protection certification is encouraged to do so. Fee for the course will be paid for by Amaizing Grace.

Who can volunteer?

We accept volunteers of all ages. Young people gain tremendous experience learning how to sell a product, handling cash and business operations.

Working events is fun and a great experience for volunteers of all ages. Here is an opportunity to participate in ministry service and best business practices at the same time; not to mention preparing “the best kettle corn ever sold.”

Remember, your organization shares in the revenue from the event. We only ask that the funds be used for ministry or community endeavors.

Covenant for Our Volunteers

The Kettle Corn Biznistry provides a unique opportunity to witness for Christ beyond the walls of our churches and in areas Jesus would most want us to be; that is at festivals and other venues attracting people who may be lost and un-churched.

Our Kettle Corn function is a Biznistry; that is a business-ministry.

The name implies two distinct functions: business operations and ministry outreach.

The business side is defined by best practices and standard business principles. This side of the equation is not difficult. The ministry side can be more challenging because of the impact on people’s lives and God’s Kingdom.

The ultimate goal of our ministry is to make disciples of Jesus Christ and bring new people into God’s Kingdom. In other words, we are to fulfill our responsibility toward the “Great Commission” by helping to bring additional people into a relationship with Christ which happens through the marketplace; that is through festivals and other special events.

When we participate in kettle corn events as volunteers we have two roles: business participants and ministers. On the business side we exercise our responsibility by doing our tasks well, acting ethically and following best practices.

As ministers, we must be open to the needs of those around us, act with a friendly demeanor, and most importantly act as Christian representatives of the Gospel. This would include refraining from participation in behavior surrounding the event including alcohol consumption, gambling and other similar activities. To act otherwise may send a confusing message about our Christian faith in a very public setting.

This mixed and confusing message could potentially have a negative effect on other festival participants and perhaps deny those most in need of an opening for a relationship with our Lord and Savior. Therefore, as a volunteer in this unique ministry I agree to accept both roles seriously and will do my very best in God’s service.
